This page is devoted to everything QuickBooks.  FOBS hopes you find it useful.

QuickBooks had a major overhaul of its programs in 2008 and in our opinion, it is all for the better.  We have used more complex accounting programs that incorporate many of the features offered here, at a much steeper cost to the end user. We applaud Intuit's efforts to present a more polished interface that is not only more pleasing to the eye, but much more time effective and takes advantage of the concept of using integrated processes in one easy to access centre. They again modified the program and their newest offering is 2010. Check this link for details: (it will open up a page on Intuit, which when you scroll down, will display a series of eight screen shots, click on any of them to view details of actual screens in the 2011 version of QuickBooks) Not sure which version you should choose for your particular needs? No problem; QuickBooks  provides a comparative of their versions to help you choose exactly what is right for your business.

The features on the version that was  introduced in 2008 is written by a QuickBooks ProAdvisor who, as are we, is enamoured by the considerable time and effort that went into improving the product to make it easier for all users, new and experienced alike, to use QuickBooks efficiently and in the most cost effective way.  Check out this QuickBooks2008.pdf.  If you don't have the free Adobe reader, it can be downloaded here (will open a new window on the Adobe site).

What we especially like about QuickBooks, is the EasyStep® start-up interview.  It helps you  set up your company files, by asking a series of  questions that are easy to understand and after a few clicks of the mouse, voila!, you are ready to enter the information unique to your particular company.  The home page interface makes it a breeze to glide through all the processes, as it is graphical, with interactive links to all of the possible choices a user would make when ready to invoice a customer, pay a vendor, or with the optional payroll module, pay an employee.  It is all designed to make each task an intuitive process, by providing a 'home' page for each aforementioned group.  It is a veritable map of processes, steered by a navigator and provides configurable paths to accomodate each user's style .

Like any good software producer, Intuit provides tutorials that help you do common tasks.  This link opens up a video driven tutorial designed to help you learn to use QuickBooks.
